SpaceShift Diaries

Greetings All!

I would like to introduce you our first game for Android platform! We named it Space Shift. It was a really good challenge for us to create this game, because we had to learn everything from scratch. Space Shift is made on Unity3d engine. And its stylized as 2d game.  Space Shift is 2d old-school 2d shooter. Underneath you can see some of ours development stuff. In one week it will be available on Google Play, so you will be able to enjoy it.

Chevy vs Piano making of

I decided to write another small making of about my new project called Chevy vs Piano. That's actually the video https://vimeo.com/62517200.

Once again inspired by another one pack of all quadrupeds archexteirors Evermotion, it was decided to do something absurd, but good-looking on the background of one of their scenes. I chose the desert. I do not want to advertise, but the scene has really good quality.

The whole scene was in 3d max. The scene had about 10 million polygons, and the camera had to be static, I edit the background a little bit, and then  just baked it like a texture. It helps to work more comfortably and render much faster.

The car has been already done. So I’ve just had to only to animate a little movement, as if the car just rolls down the road, stopping due to come under the wheels of stones. To animate a car, I used a wonderful plugin Craft Director Tools, simply tying the major parts of the car to dummies of the plugin.

Simulation of smashing piano was made using RayFire, small pieces of wood and  broken  glass I addedwith Particle Flow. To warp the roof car modifiers Sloth (that was a very cool thing.) Of course in this case it was possible to get by with the usual Morpher, but it was interesting to try Cloth. Also, I used it for flying at the end of the video, notes

Compositing  was done in After Effects. Nothing special : particles for foreground, a little shake of the camera, a couple of iterations of color adjusting, Motion Blur.
